I believe eggs were laid on April 19th. This is only a belief as I haven't the gumption to don the hip waders daily and peer into the tube/disturb the nest. The only evidence for this belief is the current residence of 4-5 mallard drakes that have been on the pond since April 19th. If the eggs hadn’t been laid , the father would have run off anything that landed. That means we should heave hatchlings no later than May 19th. I’m keeping an eye out for the little guys.
